Shimon Sheves, who previously served in the Yitzhak Rabin government as General Director, formaly Chairman for RSLB Partners, a firm that he co-founded with three additional businessmen in 2002. RSLB, which is headquartered in Washington DC, has been successful in finding US funding and investment partners for Israeli firms. Through extensive connections and relationships with American businessmen, both in top level public service positions as well as in the private sector, the company proposes introductions to various types of Israeli companies and entrepreneurs who have a product that is in the development stage as well as those that are ready to market but in need of funding from an outside source. The company's founders are all extremely reputable and experienced, coming from strong backgrounds in public service or high-tech corporations. RSLB is a shortened version of the last name of each of the founding partners beginning with Yuval Rabin who is the son of former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin. The other partners are Amnon Lipkin-Shahak, who has served as the Chief of Staff in the Israeli government, and Gil Birger who brings experience as an entrepreneur in Israeli high-tech. The four founders involved in the establishment of RSLB Partners negotiated their own financing to cover the start-up costs of the business formation. Educational and Professional BackgroundIsraeli born Shimon Sheves studied at the University of New Haven and earned degrees in public and business administration. Shimon Sheves worked in the public sector as the Chairman of the Golan Economic Development Company where he played a key role in upgrading the economic status of Israel's northern region. During this period Shimon Sheves also role as Chairman of Golan Settlements Committee and the Deputy Chairman of Golan Heights Regional Council. From there he went to Israel's Ministry of Defense where his responsibilities included management of the country's national infrastructure, Settlements & National Priority Regions. Shimon Sheves was also politically involved with upcoming elections for the Labor Party and helped plan strategies and campaign tactics that led the party to its first win in the polls in 25 years.
